NORWALK, CONN Young Chang Kim of Norwalk passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, NY following a brief illness. She was 85. Her beloved husband Byung Ki Ahn, died following four years of their marriage. Born in Young Ju, South Korea, Young Chang was the daughter of Jae Kyun Kim and Jae Mu Lee and attended local schools. In 1985, she emigrated to the States and lived in New York until 1992, when settled to Norwalk. Young Chang was a homemaker who enjoyed providing for her family. She loved surrounding herself amongst her grandchildren that she helped raise and creating so many memories with her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her only daughter, Ui Hwan and her husband, Sang Kyu Yi of Norwalk; two grandsons, Sonny S. and his wife, Julie Yi of Norwalk and Andrew D. and his wife, Mina Yi of White Plains, NY; two great-grandchildren, Kayla J. and Lucas J. Yi; two brothers, Taek Young Kim of Chicago and Dae Young Kim of Korea; two sisters, Young Ja Kim and Choon Ja Kim, both of Korea and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death were two sisters, Sook Young Kim and Soon Young Kim. Young Chang's funeral service will be held at 7:30PM on Friday, August 21, 2009 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street. An additional funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 9:00AM in Connecticut Korean Mission Church, 35 Pulaski Street, Norwalk.
