William “Bill” Pappa, Sr.
Bill Pappa, 82, passed away peacefully in his home in Norwalk, Connecticut on the morning of February 28, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Bill was born on August 21, 1933 in Bronx, NY. He was the first child born to Peter and Margaret Pappa. He was an avid sports enthusiast. He skied, played baseball, basketball, and was a Lynvet football member for life. He continued to coach youth sports late into his life. He attended and was a proud graduate of John Adams High School and Wagner College. He served in the Navy for six years as an aviation electrician with a torpedo squadron aboard USS Palau and with a patrol squadron in the Navy Reserve. After leaving the Navy he started a career with IBM as an electric typewriter repairman. From there he became a customer engineer with a two year assignment in Saudi Arabia. He then became a senior marketing representative with GE Capital as his major client where he met his wife to be Linda. He retired after thirty-five years of dedicated service. He was a small business owner with his partner, brother and best friend George at their bar, the Tropical Pub, in Belmar, New Jersey, which he never considered work.
Bill is survived by his wife Linda, his two sons William and Michael, his sister Helen Gerhold, and his brother George and his wife Susan. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Nicole and husband Jason, Bill, George, Mark and Steven, his sister-in-law Diane Christian and his favorite brother-in-law Emery. Bill adored his mother-in-law Elsie Menicucci.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Philip Youth Group. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philip Church at 25 France Street in Norwalk, Connecticut at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 5, 2016.
