NORWALK, CONN Wanda (Zygmont) Swatland of Norwalk passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011 in her home, following an illness. She was 72 and the beloved wife to George Swatland of 49 years. Born in Port Chester, New York on April 30, 1939, Wanda was the daughter of the late James and Helen (Zemba) Zygmont. Wanda worked in Danbury at a grocery market as a meat wrapper for many years. She was very active in her industry's UFCW, Local 371 Food Workers Union, where she sat the on executive board until her death. She was a private lady who's life was caring for her husband. Along with her husband, Wanda is survived by many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Services were held privately. The family would like to thank Teresa Wojnoski, Wanda's hospice nurse, for her compassionate and loving care during her last weeks.
