Vincent P. Bologna (1928-2022) entered into eternal life on October 17, 2022. Born in Greenwich, CT he was the son of Nicholas and Mariantonia Bologna.
The loving husband of the late Ethel M. Bologna they were wed in January 1952 and married for 58 years until her death in 2010. Prior to her death Vinnie was Ethel’s sole caregiver, a role he willingly took on with love and compassion. Vinnie proudly served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant . When asked if he wanted to make the military his career, he politely refused. He worked as a mechanical engineer with Pitney Bowes in Stamford for 44 years until his retirement. In his younger years Vinnie loved playing softball, golf and bowling. He was an avid fan of the New York Mets who took the place of the beloved Dodgers when they snuck out of New York. A superb cook he served many weekend and holiday dinners for his extended family. Vinnie was a devoted father who coached his children’s sports teams and was supportive of many of their creative endeavors.
He is survived by his son Vincent and his wife Peggy; his daughter Cynthia and her wife Kathleen ; his son Mark and his wife Barbara; his granddaughter Elizabeth; his grandson Daniel and his wife Kelly; his three great grandsons Colton, Declan and Hudson;.
Vinnie’s family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Hillhouse, The Greens in Greenwich and The Greens at Cannondale and to caregivers Yudetty Mirabel, Olga Bedoya, Antonella Faieta and Betty Laguna for all the care they gave our father.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on November 19, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Philip Church, 1 Father Conlon Pl. Norwalk. Interment with full military honors will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk.
