LIFELONG NORWALK RESIDENT Verlyn M. Hartman, a lifelong Norwalk resident, passed away on Saturday, September 04, 2010 in the Westport Healthcare Center following a long illness. She was 95. Her three beloved husbands, George Stone, Robert Lamb and Norman Hartman all predeceased her. Born in Norwalk on December 16, 1914, Verlyn was the daughter of Edward and Emma (Amundsen) Juleson and attended local schools. She worked as a mangler at the former Star Laundry Norwalk for twenty-seven years. Veryln enjoyed playing cards, embroidering and sewing. She was known for her exceptional baking skills that included her famous cakes. Additionally, Verlyn had a green thumb and grew many exotic flowers and plants. But most of all, her passion and love was her family and enjoyed their company, as well as her friends. She will be missed dearly by all. She is survived by three sons, George Stone of Arizona, John Stone of Florida and Thomas Stone of Alabama; two daughters, Mildred Gilbert of Maine and Shirley Kensek of Norwalk; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were brothers, Clifford Juleson, Raymond Seib and Robert Juleson and a sister, Marjorie Breidenbach. Verlyn's family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 07, 2010 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 08, 2010 in the parlor at 10:00AM with the Rev. Keith N. Welch of the Church of the Nazarene, Norwalk to officiate.
