Obituary for Tosha M. Fagan Schmidt
Tosha Fagan Schmidt, 62 of West Haven, Connecticut passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025. She was born in Stamford, Connecticut on June 16, 1963 to the late Dana Fagan of New Canaan, CT and Joseph Fagan of Wake Forest, NC.
In her younger years, while attending The Berkeley School, Tosha stepped briefly into the world of modeling, where her confidence and grace shone brightly. But it was in healthcare where she found her true calling acquiring education that led to various roles in hospitals providing patient care for many years. She was known for being wonderfully chatty, often unfiltered and truly authentic. A devoted sports fan who never missed a chance to cheer on the New York Yankees and Ohio State football. She followed her teams with heart and enthusiasm, and watching games was something she truly looked forward to each season.
She is survived by her beloved son Michael Fagan of New Canaan, CT who she often said to many is the best thing she has ever done in life. She is also survived by her father, Joseph Fagan; two sisters, Tracey Fagan Danzey of West Haven, CT who was her peanut butter to her jelly, Tanya Fagan
of Wake Forest, NC; her brother and co-pilot in life Thomas (Nicole) Fagan, Brett Gibson of Connersville, IN, and Vance (Christy) Gibson of Indianapolis, IN. Considered lifelong brothers Matthew Louis and Sean Sellers. Treasured nieces and nephews in which she made each feel uniquely special.
Tosha was a minister in training (MIT) under the Bishop Derek L. Calhoun, Overseer at New Vision International Ministries whose current pastor is Dexter B. Upshaw, Jr. Always curious about God’s word, she continued a structured study of the Bible in pursuit of accurate knowledge up until the eve of her sunset.
She was predeceased by her mother Dana, Sister Nicole (Nikki) Fagan, her brother Joseph Fagan and her guiding light , her NorthStar, her heart Nonnie.
Tosha (affectionally known as Tottie or Tot) will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on as one of the original seven—the TMs plus one (Tammy, Timmy, Tracey, Tommy, Terry, and Pam), her fur babies Sasha & Bella, her cousins, family, and dearest sister-friends.
