Tommaso Rizzetta age 90, beloved husband of the late Antonietta Rotella Rizzetta passed away at Cassena Rehabilitation Center in Norwalk on the evening of December 27, 2017. He was born on December 3, 1927 in Sersale, Italy and was the son of the late Salvatore and Caterina Borelli Rizzetta. He moved to the United States with his wife and three children at age 42 in 1970 and resided in Norwalk, CT. Tommaso was a humble man of character. He worked for US Surgical as a technician in the Quality Control department. He loved his job and was proud of his ability to fix any surgical instruments. He retired at the age of 67. He was a friend to many here in the United States and he is fondly remembered by many in his home town Sersale.
He was survived by his sister Santina Borelli of Sersale, Italy and Carmela Angotti of Edmonton, Canada. Three children Salvatore and his wife Michele, Francesco and his wife Anna, and a daughter Caterina (Cathy) Mills and her Fiancé Stephen Guh. Seven grandchildren Suzanne, Thomas, Bernadette, Frankie, Jason, Sal Jr. and Jessica and several great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers Pietro-Antonio and Pasquale, two sisters Maria and Giuseppina, whom were nuns in convents in Italy, and a sister Lucia.
Friends are invited to greet the family on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Norwalk’s Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street, Norwalk, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Phillip Church. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
