Teresa Jankowska, age 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 4, 2015 in Norwalk Hospital. She was a loving wife to Czeslaw Jankowski for 59 years. She was born on May 7, 1931 in Kaimy Poland and was a daughter to the late Feliks & Franciszka Mucharska Skrodzki, and her stepfather Zygmund Chojnowski. She lived in Krakow, Poland, and immigrated to the United States in 1983 and made it her home Norwalk, CT. Teresa was a devout Catholic, and most importantly the nucleus of her large family. Teresa was a loving mother of 4 and grandmother to 9 grandchildren. Her children are: son Edward Jankowski and his wife Danuta of Norwalk; daughters Lucyna Pawlowska and her husband Andrzej of Norwalk, Renata Singh and her husband Rajesh of Fairfield, Ela Bober and her husband Zbigniew of Norwalk. Teresa also has a sister Maria Tarnacka in Poland. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren and their spouses; Maciej and Maryann, Ania and Albert, Lukasz, Marcin and Angelika, Matthew, Michael, Maya, Samir, and Sabrina. Teresa was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first great-grandchild, Dylan. Friends may greet the family on Friday February 6, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Stamford. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Church.
