NORWALK, CONN. Stella Tuozzolo, a resident of Norwalk for over 60 years, formerly of New Canaan, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008, after suffering injuries of a tragic accident. She was 93. Born in New Canaan on April 12, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Angelina Spinosa. She was the wife of the late Leonard V. Tuozzolo, who died in 1987. A seamstress, she had worked for the Whitney Shop and Nora Zandre of New Canaan as well as many shops. She was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and its Rosary Society in addition to their bereavement group, helping and supporting others in their time of need. She was also a member of the Order of Sons of Italy, Norwalk. She was an avid bowler. She is survived by a son, Leonard V. Tuozzolo and his wife Carole of Stratford; a daughter, Marylyn Stepkoski and her husband, Jack of Norwalk; a sister, Julie Christiano of New Canaan; six grandchildren, Scott and his wife Colleen Tuozzolo, Peggy and her husband Tom Taliercio, Karin and her husband Chris Hyzy, Thomas and his wife, Adrianne Stepkoski, Timothy and his wife Tina Stepkoski, Suzanne and her husband Chris Platt; fourteen great-grandchildren. Preceded in death were four sisters, Catherine Labozzo, Carol Ruta, Rose Decale, Carmella Zullo, and two brothers, Nicholas and Anthony Spinosa. The family will receive relatives and friends in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street on Monday, July 21, 2008 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 from the funeral home at 10:45AM, when the funeral procession will proceed to St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30AM. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk.
