NORWALK, CONN Stella G. Maar of Norwalk passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010 in Honey Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Norwalk, following an illness. She was 86. Born in Vik, Iceland on June 01, 1923, Stella was the daughter of the late Guidni and Margaret (Thorinsdottir) Maurson and attended local schools. At the age of 28, she emigrated to the States and settled in Norwalk within the last decade. She worked as an Account Executive for Olin Corp of Stamford for thirty-five years before retiring in 1989. She is survived by her daughter, Liza Loesch of South Salem, NY; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death were two sons, Peter and Michael. Honoring Stella's wishes, all services including burial will be held in Iceland.
