Stanley B. Tyska, 84, a longtime resident of Norwalk, beloved husband of Lillian Spoto Tyska, passed away peacefully on July 27th surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 8, 1931 in Stamford to the late Benjamin and Stella Tyska. A 1950 graduate of Stamford High School, Stan went on to attend Bridgeport University graduating with a degree in Engineering then began his career as a product designer for 35 years at Pitney Bowes before retiring in 1988. Stan was a veteran of the US Army and belonged to many organizations such as the Elks, American Legion and New Horizons of Saint Matthews Parish. He was an avid golfer who enjoyed spending time in Florida with his wife Lillian and also spending time with his family who he loved dearly especially his great grandson Hunter who was the joy of his life. Stan survived by his beloved wife of 56 years Lillian Tyska. Daughter Cathy Smith, Son Robert Tyska wife Theresa, 3 granddaughters Elise Smith, Jessica Salvato husband Jon, Danielle Smith, and great grandson Hunter Salvato. he also was survived by his sister in-laws Elizabeth DeLuca husband Raymond, Joann Miller husband Ron as well as several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Norwalk Hospital ICU and Telemetry Unit for their exceptional care Friends and family may call on Thursday July 30th from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory 5 East Wall Street Norwalk. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 31st at 10:00 am at Saint Matthew's Parish 216 Scribner Ave Norwalk. Entombment will follow at Saint John's Mausoleum on Richards Ave in Norwalk. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Matthews Parish in Stan's memory.
