WESTPORT, CONN Sophia Cherolis-Radley, born in Fond du lac, Wisconsin, on June 17, 1918, passed away in Norwalk, CT on December 26, 2011. Sophie was predeceased by her parents George and Anna Cherolis, husband John Radley, and siblings Mary Kalabolas (Foti), Joe Cherolis, Nick (Bessie) Cherolis, Christine Bauer, and Anthony Cherolis. She was the devoted daughter in law of John and Grace Radley. She is survived by her sister-in-laws, Sophia Cherolis, Bessie Cherolis, numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Guy Moirez and Barbara Taylor. Her energetic personality was evident in her 60 years employed as a waitress. She worked at the Shore Points diner in Norwalk and at a Greek Restaurant in South Norwalk. She was an avid gardener and her beautiful crocheted items are enjoyed by her family and friends. Sophie grew up in the Greek Orthodox Faith and was a former member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church. She was baptized in the Mormon Church four years ago. Sophia was loved dearly and will be missed. Our family is most appreciative of the care that Sophie received at the Haven Health Care in Westport. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Guy Moirez, Barbara Taylor, Bishop Herget and the congregation of the Darien Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. May her memory be eternal. A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, January 16, 2012 in Fairfield Memorial Park, Stamford. There are no calling hours.
