BETHEL/NORWALK Sally Mae Hermann passed away on Friday, October 24, 2008, while surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 77 years of age. Born in Stamford on April 18, 1931, Sally was the daughter of the late Philip A. and Lillian Z. (Abrams) Offen. Sally graduated from Stamford High School in 1948 and continued her education at Harcum College of Bryn Mawr, PA. On March 10, 1951, she married her beloved husband of thirty-eight years, Leonard S. Hermann, whom she was predeceased by. Sally was a longtime resident of Norwalk. During her illness, she resided in New Canaan with her daughter, Ellen. Sally worked for Salvin & Salvin of Wilton for over sixteen years as a paralegal. She was a member of the Shore and Country Club of East Norwalk for many years, where she enjoyed playing tennis. She was an elegant lady who loved to surround herself amongst her family, especially her grandchildren. Sally loved to read, cook and enjoyed skiing, particularly at Stratton Mountain in Vermont. Sally is survived by two daughters, Ellen L. and her husband Dr. Hossein Samai of New Canaan and Karen and her husband, Frank Lagana of Sarasota, FL; a daughter-in-law, Mary E. and her husband, Arthur R. Arnold, with whom she lived with; a sister, Jane Sementini of Wilton; four grandchildren, Philip A. Lagana, David E. Pramer, Jr., April R. Pramer and Megan E. Hermann-Arnold; several nieces and a nephew. Preceded in death was a son, Charles J. Hermann, who passed in 2000. At Sally's request, all services will be held privately.
