Ruth M. Nieves

Ruth Maria Gutiérrez Nieves passed away surrounded by her children on July 22, 2026 in Norwalk. She was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico on December 27, 1946 and came to the United States as a young childto achieve a better life. Ruth was always a dedicated and a hard worker at Leaks and Watts group home as an assistant group counselor and always loved working with kids. After several years, she became a dental assistant in the Bronx until she retired. Her favorite movies were, the twilight zone and Harry Potter. Most recently she helped her daughter with a dog grooming business by giving a helping hand. She was an animal lover which was something she passed on to her family. Ruth moved to Connecticut two years ago where she lived in Norwalk until her passing. She loved going to the senior center for the day to socialize with other seniors and loved playing a scratch off tickets for entertainment .

Ruth is survived by her daughter Olga Nieves and her son Jorge Nieves. she was also a great fur mom to her beloved Pomeranian Mack
