Rosalie A. Pironto

May 24, 1934 — May 12, 2023

Rosalie (DeSalvo) Pironto passed onto the Lord on May 12, 2023 at Norwalk Hospital. Her beloved grandchildren rallied to be by her side. Rosalie was born on May 24, 1934 to Rosalia Granata and Cero (James) DeSalvo. She was the most beautiful 10lb baby girl, her mothers’ 12th and final child. She grew up surrounded by her 9 sisters and 2 brothers who adored her. They were Josephine DeSalvo (Joseph) Pavia, Katherine DeSalvo (James) Capossela, Nancy DeSalvo (Charles) Neglia, Jenny DeSalvo (Peter) Mardi, Ann DeSalvo (Norton) Rhodes, Ben (Nancy) DeSalvo, Frances DeSalvo (Paul) Lorusso, Mary DeSalvo, Martha DeSalvo Callahan, Rita DeSalvo (John) Polonetz and Frank (Frances) DeSalvo. Rosalie was loved and celebrated as “the special one”, with many authority figures keeping her in line. Her happy family continued to grow, soon peppered with in-laws, cousins and friends. Everyone was welcome at the house on Newfield Avenue for sauce on Sunday afternoons. Rosalie married her high school sweetheart, Frank, at the tender age of 19 and together they had 4 children; the late Michael Pironto, daughter Cheryl Pironto, son Gary Pironto, and the late Ricky Pironto. Together, Frank and Rosalie shared a lifetime of love until Frank’s death in 2013. They loved to visit Cape Cod, where Rosalie acquired an affection for lighthouses, and painted them in her spare time. She was very artistic and loved to add her unique touch to all things, including dried flowers. She was an avid sports fan. It didn’t even matter what sport, she would watch; but she especially loved baseball and was a diehard Mets fan. One of her biggest joys was spending time with her grandchildren, Michele Migliaccio (Stephen) Keefe, Eric Pironto, and Sal Migliaccio, and more recently her first great grandchild, Romy Keefe. Rosalie will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
