NORWALK, CONN Rona Francella Knight of Norwalk passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 in her home, following a senseless act of violence. She was 73. Rona Francella Knight was born in Maryland District, St. Andrew Jamaica West Indies on April 19, 1937 to Phillip and Irene Knight. She attended the Woodford All Age School. After graduating from school Rona gained Employment with the family of the Denoes & Geddes Beer Company in Jamaica. After many years of service to the family she left and became a self employed business woman. She met Albert Dickens and the union produced six children. Rona worked tirelessly to support her family. She loved her children dearly and supported them in whatever they endeavored to do. She was a very quiet and peaceful person, never involved herself with outside matters, always reserved. Rona traveled back and forth to the United States to see her children and at the time of her untimely passing she was ready to return to Jamaica. She will be sadly missed by her children Dazie, Millicent, Buckey, Marlene and Mickey; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, sister Sarah Boogle (Bridie) and other relatives and friends. Rona and her daughter, Enid will be lying in repose on Sunday, June 27, 2010 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 2:00PM - 5:30PM. Their funeral service will be held in the parlor at 5:30PM and will conclude at 7:00PM. Additional funeral services, including interment will be held on July 03, 2010 in Jamaica. The family kindly asks that flowers to be omitted and they also would like to thank everyone for their many acts of kindness and prayers.
