Robert Pastore of Norwalk, age 89, passed away peacefully at Wilton Meadows on April 1, 2019. Robert was born on February 12, 1930 in Valhalla, NY, and is the son of the late Anthony and Pauline Pastore.
Robert spent most of his life in Silver Lake, NY where he was married and raised a family with his late wife, Adalaidie Martell Pastore. He was a skilled contractor, who took great pride in his work. Robert was an artist, and had a passion for architecture, art and music. He also loved to dance. He took great pride in his work, his country, and his family. Robert served in the Korean War from 1951-1953 and was a member of the VFW in Norwalk where he enjoyed gathering with friends old and new.
Robert is survived by his children; Jennifer Pastore of Westport, Dayna Gerring of Westport, Michelle Pastore of Cincinnati, OH, Mark Pastore of White Plains, NY; two brothers, John Pastore of West Haven, CT, Mickey Pastore of Silver Lake, NY and Carol Sullivan of Ohio. Robert was blessed with seven beautiful grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one on the way. In addition, he had several dear nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 4, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Hoyt-Cognetta /Lesko Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk, CT.
