Robert M. Morgan

September 7, 1947 — February 21, 2019

Robert “Bob” Morgan, loving husband of Susan Morgan, passed away on Thursday morning, February 21, 2019 at the age of 71 at Norwalk Hospital after a courageous battle with late stage pancreatic cancer.

Bob was born on September 7, 1947 in the Bronx, NY. He maintained friendships with many of his childhood Bronx friends throughout his life. It was a strong bond that lasted for many years.  Bob met the love of his life, Susan Morgan (Anthony) in December 1976 and were married on October 27, 1979 in Vermont, where his sister Joan lived. Bob and Susan eventually moved to Norwalk, Ct. where he had been working for the United States Postal Service. After 23 years of delivering mail in Norwalk, Bob retired; ready to spend more leisure time at home and around the community. Bob truly loved helping people.  His knowledge of the Norwalk area from his time delivering mail was a factor in deciding to deliver meals to local seniors for the Meals on Wheels Program. Bob also became a board member of his condo association, eventually becoming president. He enjoyed the challenge of listening to various ideas and opinions, coordinating projects and getting things done.

Bob enjoyed being around friends and family. He loved laughing and telling funny stories. He made friends easily and enjoyed meeting new people, willing to extend a helping hand wherever needed. If you were a NY Yankees fan, friendship was inevitable. This diehard Yankee fan started going to Yankee games while growing up in the Bronx and continued attending games with his wife, Susan throughout his life. He helped ensure that his nephew, Michael McGrath, who lived in Vermont, grew up to be a Yankees fan by supplying him with all things Yankees.

During their life together, Bob and Sue enjoyed going to Broadway shows, traveling to Vermont to visit family, going to Yankee Stadium and gathering with family and friends. Bob was predeceased by his father, Michael Morgan and his mother Hilda Andorn (Morgan).

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Susan, his sister Joan McGrath (Morgan), his brother-in-law Ray McGrath, his nephew Michael and many friends, old and new.

The family is having a private burial service on Tues. Feb. 26.2019 and a public Celebration of Life gathering is being planned for a later date. The Hoyt-Cognetta / Lesko Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street in Historic Norwalk has been entrusted with arrangements.
