Robert Raymond Knebel of Norwalk, CT, devoted husband and father, renaissance man, and friend to all, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with melanoma on December 22nd, 2017. He was born in Stamford, CT on March 14th, 1954 to Raymond P. Knebel and the late Sophie Sirade.
He graduated from the University of Connecticut (January 1977) with a BA in History where he was a member of the Beta Sigma Gamma fraternity. He worked at MBI, New England Collector's Society and Reed and Barton as a project manager. After this he embarked on a self-employment career painting and doing various contracting jobs, indulging in one of his true passions of working with his hands. He enjoyed his New York Yankees, books (especially history), camping, PBS programming, and his beloved dogs. His other true passion was cooking where he would haunt all the farmer's markets in summer looking for the freshest veggies! Nothing kept him down and he believed in living life to the fullest.
He is survived by his wife Charlotte, son Andrew and fiancé Tara Shanes-Hernandez, and daughter Katrina. He is also survived by his brother Jeffery Knebel, his 3 nieces, his beloved Aunt Mary Shimko, numerous cousins, his mother-in law Charlotte L. Franks, and his brother-in-law, Eugene Franks
