NORWALK, CONN Rita M. Sjoblom, age 89, wife of the late Erik A. Sjoblom of Norwalk, CT passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2011 at Norwalk Hospital. Born on March 25, 1922 in the Bronx, NY, Rita was the daughter of the late Arvid & Hilda Edin. Rita was a graduate of James Monroe High School in the Bronx NY. In her lifetime she held many secretarial and office positions. She retired from the City of Norwalk (Parks & Recreation) in 1986. Rita was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Norwalk. She was also a volunteer at the Norwalk Senior Center. A lover of cats, she always had them in her home. Rita is survived by her three loving children, John Sjoblom of Trumbull, Judith Barker and her husband Charles of Norwalk & Ronald Sjoblom and his wife Julie of Trumbull. Rita is also survived by her three loving grandchildren, Erika Barker of Greene, Maine & Andrew and Amanda Sjoblom of Trumbull. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 17, 2011 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 12, Noon - 1:00PM. At the conclusion of calling hours, Rita's funeral will be held in the parlor, 1:00PM. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
