Richard S. Coppola, age 49, beloved husband of Dacia Damato Coppola of Norwalk, passed away suddenly on March 14, 2014 at his home. Rit was born July 12, 1964 in Stamford and was the son of Theodore Coppola and the late Jeanne Philipse Coppola. Rit was a Facility Manager for the Sodexo Co. at GE Capital here in Norwalk. Rit also spent 19 years as a Facility Manager for Playtex Products. In addition to his loving wife Dacia, he is survived by a son Marc Coppola and a daughter Kylie Coppola, both of Norwalk; two brothers and their wives, Robert & Bernadette Coppola of Fairfield and Michael & Barbara Coppola of Trumbull;sister-in-law and her husband, Danielle & Charles Talisse of Norwalk; mother-in-law Joan Damato of Norwalk; Aunt Lydia Maffei of Stamford; six nieces & nephews, Matthew, Sean, Jake and Teddy Coppola, Stella & Cole Talisse. Predeceased by his mother Jeanne and father-in-law Joseph Damato. Rit was an avid sports fan who could always be found in the stands at his children's sporting events. He also loved watching his NY Giants every Sunday afternoon. Rit had a tremendous zest for life which was always evident in his smile and the sparkle in his bright blue eyes. Friends may greet the family on Monday March 17, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday March 18, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Entombment will follow in St. John's Mausoleum, Norwalk.
