Renaldo (Ray) Dominick Monaco age 83, beloved husband for 58 years to Philomena Adiletta Monaco, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 3, 2013 at home with family by his side. Ray was born in Stamford on June 2, 1929 and was a son to Mary Forlivio Monaco and the late Sabatino Monaco. He was a proud Veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army as a land demining specialist, was a 1947 graduate of Stamford high School, a musician and tile setter. Ray was a member of the Red Men Club of Mayn Mayano Tribe #46; The Elks Lodge #2220, and The American Legion Post # 74. Survivors in addition to his loving wife include his mother Mary Monaco, his beloved children, Renaldo D. Monaco Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Milford, Sabatino Monaco of New Milford, Cheryl A. Mansi and her husband Jim of Florida, Philomena A. Jaquay and her husband William of Texas, Maryanne DeVito and her husband Nick of Trumbull, James Monaco of Norwalk; three sisters, Adeline Santamaria and Divina Buchetto both of Shelton and Vincenza Siciliano of Greenwich; 12 grandchildren, Brent, Renaldo and his wife Kathleen, Alfred and his wife Katy Monaco, Jonathan and Selena Monaco, Philomena Marchione and her husband Sal, Tamie and Patti Mansi, Ian, Travis and Steven Yates and David DeVito; one great grandson Anthony Marchione. Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday January 11, 2013 from 9:00 to 11:00 am in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street.
