Ramiro Umpierre - Martinez

Norwalk, Conn. Ramiro Umpierre Martinez, a thirty-five year resident of Norwalk, passed away on Thursday, July 08, 2010 in Norwalk Hospital at the age of 64. Born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico on April 22, 1946, Ramiro was the son of the late Cleofe and Victoriana Umpierre. The Umpierre family arrived to Norwalk in 1962. Ramiro worked as a carpenter for forty years and served his community as a store proprietor for many years. He was a great handyman and utilized his talents willingly to help his family and friends anytime he could. Ramiro was a loving husband and father and was a good friend to those he met. He will be missed by all. He is survived by his beloved wife, Luz Minerva Umpierre; six sons, Hector Villafane, William Villafane, David Villafane, Ramiro Villafane, Ramiro Umpierre and Juan Carlos Umpierre; one daughter, Elizabeth Villafane ; many grandchildren; seven sisters; four brothers and many nieces and nephews. Preceding in death was his older brother, Carmelo Umpierre. The family would like to thank everyone for their many acts of kindness and prayers these past few days and ask for your continued support. Ramiro's family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in NORWALK'S HOYT-COGNETTA FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 5 East Wall Street from 5:00PM - 8:00PM. His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2010 directly at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 85 South Main Street, South Norwalk, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM.
