Ralph A. Filardo Sr. (1922-2015)
Ralph A. Filardo Sr., a life-long resident of Stamford and recently of Norwalk, passed away on December 10, 2015. He was born in Stamford on October 16, 1922. He was a son to the late Joseph and Palma Dellaventura Filardo. He is survived by his wife Julia (Lil) Filardo, of Norwalk, a son, Ralph A. Filardo Jr. and his wife Donna of Norwalk, three loving grandsons, Ralph III of Norwalk, anthony (Tony) and his wife Tina of Belmont, Mass., Nicholas of Norwalk, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers Bruno, John and Joseph and two sisters, Marion Caruso and Stella Bongo. Ralph was a WWII veteran, having served in Europe with the 282nd Army Pigeon Signal Company. He was a member of the Stamford Racing Pigeon Club for many years. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral home at 5 East Wall Street in Norwalk. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 AM, DIRECTLY at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave. Stamford. Interment will be private.
