MUNCH, Priscilla A.
Priscilla A. Munch, 86, was born in Greenfield, MA and was raised in Shelburne, MA, where her parents, Roger and Lula, and stepmother, Rose were orchardists. Priscilla graduated from Traphagen School of Fashion Design in Manhattan.
In 1950, she and Robert Munch of New Jersey married in Shelburne, MA. They built their home of 60 years in Stamford. They raised their family there while Priscilla volunteered in the North Stamford Congregational Church and later taught watercolor painting in Stamford.
Her talent led her to be involved in the Art Society of Old Greenwich, Hudson Valley Art Association, and the Springfield Art Society. Her works were exhibited extensively.
A lover of nature, Priscilla traveled with her husband to Iceland, Europe, Alaska, Canada, and throughout the United States and its national parks and monuments. There she found inspiration for her later works, in which she further expressed her appreciation of the beauty of the world.
On Sunday, January 31, 2016 Priscilla passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Munch; her three children, Gary Munch, Joan Karlsen, and Linda Kalish; three grandchildren, Guy Karlsen Jr, Eric Karlsen, and Amanda Kalish; and three loving great-grandchildren. Priscilla was predeceased by her parents and her brother and sisters, Winfield, Jeanne, and Gertrude.
