Philip C. Bardes, Sr. age 79, beloved husband to Betty A. Bardes of Wilton, passed away on July 23, 2013 in Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born on October 17, 1933 and was a son to the late Harold and Marie Genthner Bardes. Phil graduated from Stamford High School and attended Pennsylvania Military College before serving two years in the U.S. Army. During that time he developed electronic training devices for the U.S. Infantry Human Research Unit. He started his career in electrical/mechanical design at Branson Ultrasonic and retired from Perkin Elmer Corp. Phil loved the water, boating, fishing & sailing and was creative with his hands. Survivors in addition to his wife include his daughter Kathy, a son Philip and his wife Dee; two grandchildren Philip M. Bardes and Alicia Bardes; one great-grandchild Quinn Bardes and a nephew Robert C. Sclafani, Jr. He is predeceased by his parents, a sister Helen Bardes Sclafani,brother-in-law Robert Sclafani, Sr. and a nephew Gus Sclafani. Friends are invited to greet the family on Saturday July 27, 2013 from 10:00 am to 12 noon in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street.
