November 8, 1916 — December 31, 2008

Norwalk, Conn. Paul C. Maillard of Norwalk, passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 in Norwalk Hospital, following a brief illness. He was 92 years of age. Born on November 8, 1916 in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, Paul was the son of the late Paul P. and Grace (McAdams) Maillard and attended local schools. He and his family relocated to Stamford, Conn following his H.S. graduation in 1935 and served in the US Army for four years. Upon his return from the service, he married his beloved wife, Shirley E. (Perks) Maillard on May 30, 1953 and settled to Norwalk in 1961. Paul was a Real Estate Appraiser for various financial institutions throughout Connecticut. He worked in the Real Estate field his entire life, even after his retirement. He was a member of the Stamford Real Estate Association. Paul took great pride in gardening and was known for his extraordinary vegetable garden. Paul also enjoyed a great debate in politics and was an avid sports fan. But Paul's greatest pleasure was spending time with his loving wife and friends. Besides his wife Shirley of fifty-five years, he is survived by his nephew, William Gaffney of Florida; two nieces, Elaine Gaffney-Piter of Florida and Arleen Buckley of Massachusetts. Preceded in death were two sisters, Janet Gaffney and Evelyn Ferris. All services were held privately at the convenience of the family.
