Pat had transitioned peacefully to Eternal Life on April 9, 2021, after several years of battle with Primary Progressive Aphasia. "PPA" is an uncommon form of degenerative brain disease which ultimately produces the same effects as Alzheimer's Disease.
A proud native of Brooklyn, NY, Pat and husband, Bob, were residents of Norwalk since 1968. She enjoyed her work over the years in Norwalk at Central Catholic High School (now All Saints Catholic School), West Rocks Middle School and Brien McMahon High School.
Pat was blessed with 20 years of retirement and good health. Her illness was bravely borne; in her final weeks, she was provided hospice at home. Her family is forever grateful for the wonderful care given by the Fairfield BrightStar Care agency, aides Cheryll and Benita, in particular, and the visiting hospice team from Vitas Healthcare in Norwalk.
Per her wish, she was interred soon after death in a small private ceremony and rests with her husband, Robert "Bob" Mulligan, in the dedicated Veterans area of Norwalk's beautiful St. John's Cemetery (for reference: Grave/Lot No. is 180; Cemetery's website is
https://www.bridgeportdiocese.org/cemeteries/catholic-cemetery-locations/st-john-norwalk-cemetery/
).
She is immediately survived and missed every day by daughter, Joyce Mulligan; daughter, Deidre Kennedy and her husband, T. Michael, who Pat, and Bob treasured as a son; and their Japanese Akita children, Keiko and Karma.
Preceding Pat in death were her parents, Philip Creamer and Margaret Creamer Carney; beloved stepdad, Francis "The Chief" Carney; husband, Robert Edward Mulligan; brothers, Richard and Gregory Creamer; stepsister, Eleanor Gilsenan and her husband, Connie; stepsister, Doris Gwiazda and her husband Frank; and quite a few pet dogs, cats, plus a canary named Teddy.
