Parthena Seferidis

November 26, 1936 — September 13, 2021

Parthena Seferidis (née Koroxenou), 84, of Norwalk, CT passed away peacefully on Monday, September 13, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Hospital.

Parthena was born in Agios Loukas, Greece, on November 26, 1936 and married her devoted, life-long companion, Georgios Seferidis in 1957. In search of opportunity for her new family, Parthena, Georgios, and their son Nicholas immigrated to the United States in 1970. Parthena enjoyed a 20-year employment at Norwalk Hospital’s Food Service department, where she was warmly regarded as a supportive and dedicated colleague. Everyone who knew her, recognized her industriousness and zest for life. Parthena was an avid cook and baker. She could always be found in the kitchen rolling out filo dough for Spanakopita or braiding Tsoureki. She was also a prolific gardener growing her prized tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants and sharing her love of nature’s bounty with those around her. Most notably, she lionized her three grandchildren, George, Dimitri, and Stelios, whom she devoted countless loving hours of care, from baking pizzas to hemming pants to teaching Greek Pontian dances. During the course of her 64 year marriage to Georgios, she was a selfless and devoted companion, and the two have proudly established a loving family.

Survivors besides her husband Georgios Seferidis include: her son Nicholas Seferidis; daughter-in-law Sophia Seferidis of Norwalk; her three grandchildren, George Seferidis and his wife Miriam Ri of Brooklyn, NY, Dimitri Seferidis and his wife Cecilia Hagelseib Seferidis of Norwalk, and Stelios Seferidis of Norwalk. sibling Vaggela Paraskeuaidis of Thessaloniki Greece; five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and one nephew.

She will be fondly remembered for her selfless dedication and love for her family.
