Panayiota "Nota" Yannios-Juengst

September 27, 1960 — December 28, 2019

Our Beloved Nota Yannios-Juengst donned her angel wings on December 28th 2019. Her final days were spent with her family by her side. She was 59 years old.

If there are words sufficient to describe who Nota was, they would be the same words that everyone who ever met Nota would agree describe her best; an artist, a caring mother, grandmother, wife, daughter and sister, a generous friend, a tough, strong-willed spirit, a good-humored and playful soul.

Nota’s generosity and love for others showed with the readiness and ease in which she gave her time, efforts and resources. She loved helping others in need or just making someone’s special day more special by putting a smile on their face and a little sugar in their soul. Nota was always honored to carry out requests for help and donations from countless schools, churches and charities. The charity closest to her heart was the Make-A-Wish Foundation which resonated with her because of her own experiences with illness as a child.

Professionally, Nota was as she proclaimed herself, a Sugar Artist. She established “Dolce Mama”, a confectionery business in Simsbury, Connecticut. There she specialized in beautifully decorated cakes and desserts that sparkled with artistry and ambrosia flavors. Her wonderful creations were displayed at baking contests throughout the region and she won several awards for her talents. At weddings, birthdays and corporate events, her dessert displays took a spotlight and always wowed those who attended like fine art displays at galleries.

What was most impressive about her run with Dolce Mama (and in life in general) was that Nota created all she did through many difficult physical ailments. She proved just how tough and strong willed she was at heart by refusing to let her physical troubles stop her from creating in life. Instead she rose above them and lived her life with zest, good-will and humor.

Nota is survived by her loving husband Steven Juengst, children Danny Papadogonakis and Sophia Bodnar, her grandchildren Danny, Michael and Matthew Papadogonakis, and. She is also survived by her father Christos Yannios, siblings Anna Dimou and husband John, Doula Kutrubis and husband Panagiotis and Tony Yannios and wife Julia. Nota is also survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom loved her very much. She was predeceased by her mother, Helen Yannios.
