Oscar W. Kling Jr.

Oscar (Ozzie) W. Kling, of Norwalk, CT peacefully passed on Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Ozzie was born in Norwalk, CT, on March 10, 1929. He married, divorced, and remarried Joan Ford Kling. Joan and Ozzie had nine children together. Ozzie was predeceased by his parents, Ellen Woodward Kling and Oscar Kling. He was predeceased by his sister Marie Kling Hollywood, and three brothers, Elmer Kling, Oliver Kling, and Charles Kling. Ozzie also was predeceased by two daughters, Pamela Kling Harris and Beth-Anne Kling Mitchell.

Ozzie enjoyed sketching and oil painting. He had a passion for cartooning in comic style. His daughter Dawn once stated, “He has more cartoons in his drawers than clothes” and she was not kidding! Ozzie had the ‘gift of gab’ for anyone who would listen. On any given Saturday morning, around 7:30-8:00, Ozzie would be gabbing and joking around with the Stop & Shop employees and regular customers, on Main Avenue in Norwalk. All his neighbors at Laura M. Raymond Homes, will miss his smiling face and sense of humor.

Oscar W. Kling will be sadly missed by his surviving siblings: Vivian McHugh, Eleanor Barnum, Betty Milburn, and Douglas (Ann) Kling, and several nieces and nephews. Ozzie will also be missed by his surviving children: Robert Kling of Shelton, Lorraine (Ron) Montross of Norwalk, Douglas (Ellen) Kling of Norwalk, Dawn (Jim) Barrett of Stratford, James Kling (Linda Gale) of Nebo, NC, David Kling of West Haven, and Greg (Cecelia) Kling of Norwalk. He also leaves behind two sons-in-law, James Mitchell of Danbury and Jim Harris of Bridgeport. Sadly, Ozzie is leaving behind seventeen grandchildren, several of whom he never met, and 9.5 great grandchildren.
