Novella C Tortorella November 26, 1937 - June 15, 2026 Novella was born in Brooklyn, New York to Nicholas and Antoinette Pugliese. She lived there until 1969 when she and her husband Bob built a custom dream home and moved to Wilton, CT; here, they raised their two sons Steve (Gerri) and Mike (Nancy). This bold choice, to build a new life in a totally new environment, represents the features that came to define Novella. She was an independent woman of determination, devotion and distinction who brought these traits to every aspect of her life. She passed those qualities on to her family, encouraging them to dream big and pursue all that interested them in life. Novella was a curious individual with a myriad of interests that spanned from finance to interior design, from jewelry to politics, and travel to business. She was devoted to her interest in these areas and committed to learning about them through formal and informal channels. Her devotion to things she loved was best represented in the relationships that she held sacred with many friends, colleagues and, of course, her family. She and Bob enjoyed a full life across 67 years of marriage. They were fortunate to have six grandchildren whom she admired as individuals: Nick, Matt, Caroline, Kathryn, Chris and Will; and her dear nephew, Anthony Fischetti. Above all else, Novella was a principled and distinct individual who lived life her way with a devotion to things she valued. Among those things were her work and the communities she was a part of. She was proud to be a working woman who focused on accounting and brought her skills to several organizations including PWC. She and Bob partnered to run a private accounting practice for over 20 years. In Wilton, she spent 25 years volunteering at the Turnover Shop. Novella and Bob moved to Meadow Ridge in Redding, CT in 2021 where they quickly embraced their new community. She immediately became involved; dedicating countless hours to managing the finances of the Country Store, enjoying her new-found interest in croquet, and forming friendships. Novella was predeceased by her parents, sister and brother-in-law. She leaves a large void in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
