NORWALK, CONN. Nellie Hudson of Norwalk, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2009 in her daughter's home, following an illness. She was 97 years of age. Her husband of fifty years, Reginald Hudson, Sr. died in 1983. Born in Kimberly, Nottinghamshire, England on June 22, 1911, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Griffith) Edwards and was educated in local schools. She married her beloved husband in 1933 and emigrated to the States, settling in Norwalk in 1949. Nellie worked at the former Connecticut Lace Works of Norwalk for over twenty years. She was also a homemaker. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Christine I. and her husband, John DeCola of Sandy Hook; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins and a brother in law, Cecil Mann of Newburgh, New York. Preceded in death were her son, Reginald Jr. and great-granddaughter, Krystal Hudson who passed away last month. Honoring Nellie's request, all funeral services will be held privately. Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk at the convenience of the family. To send condolences to the family, please sign our guest book.
