Nancy H. Hill

Nancy H. Hill, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, passed away on January 16, 2023, at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Stephen and Helen Toth, also of Norwalk. She is survived by her son, Emery S. Hill and his wife, Judith Carter of Warrenton, Virginia, and her sister, Geraldine Schafer of Syracuse, New York.  She is also survived by her three grandchildren, and eight living great-grandchildren as well as one grandchild who predeceased her.  As described by her granddaughter, “Granny Hill was a great woman, who took on the role of grandmother and later great-grandmother with aplomb. She’ll be sorely missed.”

Nancy grew up in Norwalk, graduating from Norwalk High School in 1951, majoring in business, which prepared her for a lifetime of success.  Her avid love of music led her to being an accomplished musician, which included choral singing, marching bands and taking up the violin, piano, and trumpet. Later in life, Nancy sang in numerous church choirs in the Norwalk area.

Nancy’s career spanned over fifty years working in various financial related positions in local businesses.  Prior to her retirement, she was the Chief Financial Officer of Stafford Higgins, a multi-faceted corporation in Norwalk.

Nancy was an active member of St. Paul's on the Green in Norwalk for over thirty years. She was on the church vestry and participated in numerous other activities.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at 11am in St. Paul’s on the Green, 60 East Ave., Norwalk, CT 06851.  Following the committal, a reception will follow.  Raymond Funeral Home in Historic Norwalk has been entrusted with arrangements.
