NORWALK, CONN Nancy Alverson Gaulke passed away on March 16, 2011 at home, following a brief illness. Nancy was born on December 16, 1957 in Midland, Michigan. Nancy is the wife of Mark A. Gaulke and the mother of Christopher Gaulke, both of Norwalk, CT. Nancy was the daughter of the late Jerry and Joanne Alverson of Ithaca, Michigan. Nancy is also survived by her sisters and brother in laws Janet & Steve Tanury of Rochester Hills MI, Jackie & Tony Nieves of Thousand Oaks, CA and Susan Alverson of Sharpsburg, GA, as well as 5 nieces & nephews. She is also survived by her sister in law Ann Rooney and her husband Skip Rooney of Woodbury, CT and brother in law Peter Gaulke and his wife Julia Gaulke of Portland, ME. Nancy is an alumni of the Cranbrook /Kingswood schools in Bloomfield Hills Michigan, and a graduate of Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo MI. She worked for much of her career for Pitney Bowes in Stamford as a Purchasing Manager as well as at Exxon Office Systems. She enjoyed sailing and boating with her husband and family and a good book as well. A Memorial Service will be held at 3PM on Saturday April 2, 2011 in the Chapel at the First Presbyterian Church 1101 Bedford Street in Stamford, CT.
