Miguel A cevedo, 80, of New Canaan, Ct passed away on August 16 th , at home with his loving family by his side. He was born on May 27 th 1940 in Esquipulas , Guatemala to the late Jose Lui s Linares and Maria del Carmen Acevedo.

Miguel the youngest of 5 children was raised in Puerto Barrios and Guatemala City. At the age of 43 he immigrated to the USA in 1979 , leaving his family behind, but with the promise that he would still be raising his kids with Francesca and would not ever forget them. He stayed in Los Angeles for some month s there and moved to Stamford CT , which is where he was able to finally make it possible for part of his family to also immigrate to the United States to be here with him. He performed different kinds of jobs, until he f ound himse lf working in the hotel business for 35 years. At his job, he showed; responsibility, punctuality, and that he was a fast learner with the equipment, a nd an employer that earned the employee of the month or the employee of year very frequently . He enjoyed his job so much that he called it his second family . He loved gardening , reading , study the bible , and love d traveling back to Guatemala to visit the rest of the family and friends. Miguel didn’t like to go out to restaurant s , but he loved John’s Pizza from Bedford Street in Stamford where he would order a mushroom pizza with no tomato sauce . Besides that, he was delighted with his wife , Francisca, specialt y food.

Miguel is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Francisca D. de Acevedo ( Paca ), his loving children Sandra of Guatemala, Patricia of Stratford CT , Tirsa of New Canaan , Vinicio of Guatemala , Maria of New Canaan , Carmen, Marivel of Guatemala, Grandchildren , Nieces and Nephews. Miguel is reunited with his son Melvin Acevedo and Luis Linares. Miguel will be back to his native country Guatemala.
