Michael A. Sposta, 52, of Naugatuck, passed away in his home on October 9, 2015. Born in Port Chester, NY on July 28, 1963, he is survived by his mother, Josephine and her husband, Joseph Rider; father, Andre Sposta of Greenwich, CT. Michael lived most of his life in Norwalk, CT, and graduated from Brien McMahon High School in 1981. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany as a Specialist 4, where he received the Army Achievement Medal for Outstanding Performance in diesel mechanics and generators. He was honorably discharged in 1987. In 1988 he graduated from Porter & Chester Institute and was employed by the Norwalk Transit District as a diesel mechanic. Michael was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved spending countless hours riding and working on his Harley Davidson. He was an avid fisherman and camper. He is also survived by brother Donald Sposta , Norwalk, CT; sister, Stephanie Cenatiempo & brother-in-law, Stefano, Norwalk, CT; nephews Christopher and Steven, Norwalk, CT; and by many aunts, uncles & cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Joseph & Katherine Sposta and Antonio & Libera Ricciardella. Friends are invited to greet the family on Sunday, October 18, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday October 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew's Church. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk.
