WILTON, CONN Michael Shanko, age 93, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2010. He was born in Waterbury, Conn and was a Wilton resident since 1952. Michael retired as a supervisory machinist with Nash Engineering of Norwalk, after more than forty-three years of faithful service. He is survived by his friend, Shirley Loftus; three children, Bonnie Parker and her husband, Jerry of Texas, Michael T. Shanko of Norwalk and Jamie Gramkow and her husband, Alan of Arkansas; grandchildren, Roy Eyers III and his wife, Diane of Texas and Michael Eyers of Texas; great-grandchildren, Roy Eyers IV and Emily Eyers; and one great-great-grandchild, Roy Eyers V. Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth "Bette" (Och) Shanko. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 in Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Drive, Norwalk at 10:00AM. The Rev. Nicholas Lang of St. Paul's On The Green Church is to officiate. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
