Michael Petrucci, 65, of Norwalk, CT passed away peacefully with all the love of his family surrounding him on May 18, 2024. Mike was born in Portocannone, Italy September 09, 1958 to Filomena & to the late Antonio Petrucci.
The family came to America a couple years later to settle in Norwalk, CT, eventually becoming US Citizens, and became a lifelong resident of Norwalk. A brief residence in California led him to meet his then wife Cindy Galindo-Petrucci, and returned back to Norwalk. It’s here in Norwalk he raised his three children; Anthony, Dominick and Michele, and shared a life with his family.
Michael is survived by his mother Filomena Petrucci of Norwalk. Leaving behind a close family that will greatly miss his big bright energy. He is also survived by his two brothers, Leo Petrucci and wife Toni of Milford & Roberto Petrucci of Norwalk, nephew Leo Petrucci, Jr. and niece Adriana Petrucci. He was predeceased by his father Antonio Petrucci.
Charming and full of positive energy is what drew most people to Mike. He would be the first to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was loved and respected by all who met him, a pure soul that never lost his childlike innocence.
Mike’s life was in constant motion, full of living, exploring & curiosity. Those yellow note pads he would write on would create his next vision and adventure. From his early days running his bread business, to owning harbor deli & east side variety stores, to then a life building a business at Primerica for many years, and then construction called his name, as he leaped into construction where he purchased and rehabbed countless homes in Fairfield and New Haven counties. His biggest life project though came from his vision inspired by an island magazine where he saw a picture of an island and said “I want to buy it", led to his big adventure in Belize where he bought and took that raw 400 acre island he saw in the magazine, carved out a 10 acre beach oasis, building the infrastructure from scratch. This became a day resort destination for the big cruise liners to visit.
In the end, Mike quoted a verse from the bible that sums up his life; “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want”. Phillippians 4:12.
