Michael Eric Giblin

NORWALK, CONN Michael Eric Giblin of Norwalk, passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2009 in an accident at the Norwalk Cove Marina. He was 38. Born in Boston, Mass. on September 23, 1970, he was the son of Thomas J. and Alice G. (Major) Giblin of Milford, Mass. He graduated from Milford High School and continued his education at UMASS Lowell, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He later received his MBA from University of Illinois- Chicago. In 1999, he relocated to Norwalk, Conn. On September 18, 2004 he married his beloved wife, Debbie L. (Kornowski) Giblin and settled in Norwalk with his two children. Michael worked for several years in various brand management functions and recently created the Giblin Consulting Group of Norwalk, where he served as President. In his younger years, he enjoyed wrestling and playing soccer, hockey and lacrosse. Born with a wry sense of humor, he filled the hearts of family, friends and even improv comedy audiences with laughter. A highly devoted family man, he was a loving husband, father, son, brother and will be greatly missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Debbie L. Giblin; parents, Thomas J. and Alice G. (Major) Giblin of Milford, Mass; his son, Quinn Austin Giblin; his daughter, Skylar Regina Giblin; his brother, Thomas A. Giblin of Boston, Mass and many friends and relatives. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 11:00 AM at The Inn at Longshore in Westport, 260 South Compo Road. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, April 2, 2009 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 2:00PM - 500PM. Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Roxbury, MA, at the convenience of the family.
