Maurizio M. "Mario" Mastracchio

NORWALK, CONN Maurizio M. "Mario" Mastracchio 45, of Norwalk, passed away on Tuesday, April 07, 2009 in Connecticut Hospice of Branford. He was the husband of fifteen years to Resurreccion G. "Rosy" Mastracchio. Born in White Plains, NY on September 21, 1963, Mario was the son of the late Enrico Mastracchio and attended local schools. He furthered his education at SUNY Fredonia, where he graduated in 1985. He worked in production at Gannett Suburban Newspaper in Harrision NY. A Devout Catholic, Mario was a member of St Matthew R.C. Church in Norwalk and volunteered in many ways. He was a lector, Eucharistic Minister, choir member and enjoyed teaching catechism. He also enjoyed traveling, photography and music. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Norwalk. In addition to his wife, Mario is survived by his mother, Vincenza (Moscardelli) Mastracchio of White Plains, NY; two brothers, Frank and his wife, Diane Mastracchio and John and his wife, Mariana Mastracchio, all of White Plains, NY; mother-in-law, Virginia Gutierrez of New Jersey; sister in laws, Paz Gutierrez, Herminia Miranda, Dr. Terry Gutierrez, Flor Gutierrez, Dr. Teresita Lizardo, Flerida Gutierrez and Lita Santos; brother in laws, Armando Gutierrez, Max Gutierrez, Jong Gutierrez, Dr. Elinito Lizardo, Dr. Gil Gutierrez and Romy Santos; eight nephews and eleven nieces. Preceded in death is his father-in-law, Leoncio Gutierrez, Sr. Mario's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, April 13, 2009 and Tuesday, April 14, 2009 in Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street from 4:00PM - 8:00PM. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at 9:15AM from the funeral parlor, when the funeral cortege will proceed to St. Matthew R.C. Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM. Rev. Tomi Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew R. C. Church, 216 Scribner Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854.
