NORWALK, CONN Maureen A. Ward of Norwalk passed away on Saturday, May 09, 2009 in Norwalk Hospital while surrounded by her family. She was 67. Her beloved husband Patrick A. Ward of forty-five years, died while celebrating their anniversary, October 12, 2008. Born in Glasgow, Scotland on November 24, 1941, Maureen was the daughter of the late Archibald and Carol Ann (Maxwell) Aird. She was educated in Montreal and Cleveland Ohio and settled in Connecticut in 1973 to raise her family. Maureen was an executive assistant at the former Hermitage Group of White Plains for many years. She was a private lady who enjoyed playing scrabble and cooking. She was a member of the Fodor Farm's Community Garden of South Norwalk. She is survived by two sons, Michael P. Ward of Norwalk and Shannon M. Ward of Oakland, CA; a daughter, Colleen E. and her husband, Robert Stanley of Cary, NC; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Carol Ann Karwick of Harbor City, CA and Hilary Harrington of Santa Rosa Beach, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins. At Maureen's request, there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 01, 2009 in St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, 203 East Avenue, Norwalk at 10:00AM. Interment will be held privately. The family has selected Norwalk's Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 5 East Wall Street to assist them in the arrangements. Please omit flowers.
