GREENWICH, CONN. Mary Frances Slaughter passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17th at the Greenwich Hospital. She was 86 years old. She had been a resident of Greenwich since 1964. She was the beloved wife of Eldon Slaughter and mother of James Slaughter of Kent, Conn. and Marcia Woodcock of Smyrna, Tennessee. Born in Kingston, Missouri, May 18, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Tinsley and Gayle Brown. She grew up in Richmond, Missouri, and attended Park University in Parkville, Missouri. Her grandparents were the late Dr. and Mrs. Tinsley Brown of Hamilton, Missouri, and Dr. and Mrs. James G. Gartside of Kingston, Missouri. She was a member of The PEO Sisterhood for over sixty years, The First Presbyterian Church in Greenwich and the Senior Center. She was employed at Fawcett and CBS Publishing as an accounting clerk for ten years, retiring in 1984. In addition to Eldon and her children, James and Marcia, she is survived by her children's spouses, Dana Slaughter and Thomas Woodcock, four grandchildren, her brother-in-law, Arthur Slaughter of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. In honoring Mary's wishes, funeral services will be held privately in Richmond, Missouri. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial contributions in her name, may be made to a charity of one's choice.
