Mary E. Burns

November 27, 1928 — September 8, 2020

Mary Elizabeth Latching Austin Burns (Nov '28 - Sep '20)
Born on a farm near Gallupville, NY, she played the upright bass in Schoharie High School and was a champion Lindy Hop dancer. She met first husband at the Austin School of Beauty in Albany where she learned hair dressing. They raised 6 children who are mostly all in healing professions. Her second husband was the family dentist. They purchased a farm in East Berne and had pigs, chickens, turkeys and horses. Mary designed and had four additions built on the farm house more than quadrupling it's size. She was a talented decorator and gardener. She spent her last years in various assisted living facilities as her support needs increased, surviving COVID-19, and then passing on this past weekend. She is survived by six children and four grandchildren who have spread to all corners of the country.
