Marta A. Williams entered eternal rest on February 5, 2026.

Born on October 24, 1973, to Carlos and Angela Gonzalez, Marta was raised in Norwalk, where she attended Norwalk Public Schools. She continued her education at Gateway Community College, earning her degree in Nursing with the unwavering support of her family and then-husband, Jose Burgos.

Marta was truly a force to be reckoned with. She faced life with a fierce spirit and a radiant smile, always ready to take on any challenge that came her way. She was the life of every gathering — you could always count on her for a whisper a witty comment that would soon have everyone laughing. Marta loved dancing, cracking jokes, and proudly celebrating her Latin culture and traditions.

She worked at several medical facilities, perfecting the trade she was so deeply passionate about. During this time, she met the love of her life, Gregory Williams, and in 2006 they were united in marriage. Marta cherished summer family vacations to Ocean City and enjoyed traveling to tropical destinations.

Marta was a devoted member of Kingdom Life Christian Church, where she enjoyed Sunday services, Bible study, and fellowship outings with fellow members.

Marta’s greatest love in life was her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend whose life was centered around the people she loved most.

She is survived by her loving parents, Carlos and Angela Gonzalez; her cherished siblings, Robert Serrano; Maritza Umpierre; Maria (Luis) Rosario; Rosa (Lou) Humphrey; Jose (Santa) Gonzalez; Wanda Gonzalez; Lisa (Willie) Sims; and Jose R. (Charmaine) Gonzalez, all of whom spoiled her and lovingly gave her whatever she asked for.

Marta’s proudest and most meaningful role was being a mother to her beloved children: Jose (Jessie) Burgos, Evin Burgos, Virginia (Cory) Burgos, Greg (Danielle) Kingwood, and Felix (Lisa) Kingwood. Her children were her heart, and she poured unconditional love, guidance, and strength into each of their lives.

Her greatest joy came from her fifteen grandchildren: Jose, Hailee, Antonio, Phoenix, Evin, Jiraiya, Nova, Nina, Nora, Amaya, Jaden, Kamron, Jaxson, Sophia, and Dyani. They brought immense happiness and pride into her life. She treasured every moment spent with them, and her love and legacy will continue to live on through each one of them.

Marta was also a beloved aunt to thirteen nieces and nephews and a great-aunt to ten great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and love they shared with her.

Marta is reunited in eternal rest with her loving husband, Gregory Williams. She was also predeceased by her grandmother, Marta Vazquez; her sister, Jacqueline Gonzalez; and her uncles, Orlando Huertas, Jose Vazquez, Martin Dejesus, and David Ortero.

Marta’s life was a beautiful testament to love, faith, resilience, and joy. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
