Longtime Norwalk resident, Marion Daniels, 89, passed on to her eternal rest at home on November 17, 2019, surrounded by her children. Marion was one of four children born to Lawrence and Marion Tedesco on June 26, 1930 in White Plains, NY.
Marion graduated from White Pains High School Class of 1948, and in 1950 entered into a loving marriage with her neighbor, Salvatore Daniels. Together they raised a loving family on Quaker Road in Norwalk, a truly unique neighborhood where everyone was more like family than neighbors.
Marion had the misfortune of losing her husband Salvatore prematurely at the age of 52 on December 5, 1977. She took loving care of the love of her life, and saw to it that he was able to pass away in the comfort of their loving home.
Working became very important to Marion at that time, and she took pride in her career at the Norwalk Hospital, and upon retiring, she pursued a second career at Tauk Travel Agency. Many also know her from her many years at Howard Johnson’s, The Pier, and Skipper’s Restaurant. Marion also had a passion for travel and visited places that she could never have imagined she would see in her lifetime. She was a devout parishioner at St. Matthew’s Church, until her illness kept her from attending services.
Together, Marion and Salvatore had five children. She was predeceased by their first-born daughter, Sally Daniels, who passed on August 13, 2017. Marion is survived by her children, Lawrence Daniels and his wife Diana, Christopher Daniels and his wife May, Mark Daniele, and Renee Daniels Denner, many dear grand-children and great-grandchildren, and many dear friends. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Hoyt-Cognetta/Raymond Funeral Home, 5 East Wall Street, In Historic Norwalk, CT.
