Mario Petrucci, age 87, of Norwalk, CT has died peacefully on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who loved him dearly. His love of family was evident in the way he lived. He was beloved by everyone who ever met him, a great husband, a fantastic father, a great uncle, a loving cousin and a good friend to many.
Mario was born in Portocannone, Italy on November 8th, 1935. He was the fourth child of Michele and Adelina Petrucci. Mario was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Antoinette Gurnari, Pasquale Petrucci and Antonio Petrucci.
He came to America on December 7, 1947 at the age of 12. He began his career in the electrical trade at a young age and worked his way from apprentice, to journeyman to getting his electrical contractor’s license and having his own business in the late 70’s Petrucci Electric. He was a hardworking man, he retired 10 years ago, but still continued to work helping his sons and doing odd jobs around the house to stay busy up until he passed.
He loved to travel to Italy, go on cruises, swim in the ocean and frequently visited casinos. But spending time with family whether it was on trips or at home was the most important thing to Mario. He genuinely loved having family functions and being together with his family including nieces, nephews and cousins, he was a truly devoted family man.
Mario is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia, his four children; Frank Petrucci (Pompano Beach, FL), Chris Petrucci (Norwalk, CT), David Petrucci (Norwalk, CT) and Lyn Provenzano (Pompano Beach, FL). He has three grandchildren Christina (Leighton) Schuck (Pensacola, FL), Bianca Petrucci (Tampa, FL) and Jiovanni Provenzano (Pompano Beach, FL) and five great grandchildren all located in Florida; Caleb Schuck, Gabriel Schuck, Christopher Schuck, Carmine Petrucci, Gianna Petrucci.
It can be a great comfort to a grieving person or family to hear that others thought highly of their loved one, too. If you knew and admired Mario, be sure to let the family know by writing a few words in the "Guestbook" section of his obituary.
