Marilyn J. Doby

A shining light, Marilyn J. Doby of Norwalk, CT passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Norwalk Hospital.

Marilyn was a graduate of Stamford High School. She enjoyed working at Macy s Fine Jewelry and had fond memories of being a clown in the Macy s Thanksgiving Day parade. She also worked in the Medical field in Greenwich CT for many years.

Marilyn lived a heartfelt, loving and caring life with her family and everyone she ever came in contact with. To her, everyone was family where love was present. She was her children's and grandchildren's #1 fan in sports, music, theater and social activities. She loved the color purple and always liked to wear a little bling. Marilyn delighted in sharing great memories of her family’s endeavors with everyone and was always thankful to share in any and everyones joy.

She is survived by her children: Joseph F. Galasso of Las Vegas, NV; Susan (Galasso) Barnett and her husband Mike of Wilton, CT; Gary A. Galasso of Norwalk, CT; Daniel Galasso & Nicole J. Buonerba of Norwalk, CT; her grandsons Mike Barnett and Chris Barnett of Brooklyn, NY and Kyle Barnett of Wilton CT. She is also survived by her extended family including Katherine Askew; Joseph Street; Faith & David L’Heureux; Sandra Modugno; beloved cousins, nieces and nephews, and her many “adopted” children and grandchildren whom she loved as her own.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Joseph R. Modugno and Sarah (Gladstone) Modugno of Stamford, CT; her sister Barbara (Modugno) Black; her brother Ronald Modugno; her late husband Preston A Doby; as well as her past husbands, Jay Baines, and Joseph F. Galasso Jr., the father of her 4 children.

A celebration of her life is being planned. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s, PAWS or if you can, please give blood. Please visit www.norwalkfh.com for more information.
