Marie Saveria Rivardo, 90, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2026. She was born on February 20, 1936, in Brooklyn to Carmella and William Ciaramello.

Throughout her life, Marie made her home and raised her family in Brooklyn, thenmoved to Cliffside Park, New Jersey, and then settled in Wantagh, New York, beforeher final move to New Canaan, Connecticut.

Prior to her retirement, Marie worked as a bookkeeper for Classic Sanitation, where she dedicated more than 40 years of service. She was known for her devotion, strong work ethic, and commitment to her family and those around her.

Marie is survived by her brother, Daniel Ciaramello, and his wife, Angela.

She is also survived by her three children: Michael Nani and his wife, Laura; Paula Greco and her husband, Kevin; and Thomas Nani and his wife, Patty; as well as her stepdaughter, Jill Cataldi and her husband, John.

Marie was blessed with many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Brian, Jennifer, Michael, Eva, Steven, Marissa, Lauren, Jaclyn, Jenna, Matthew, Corine, Marcello, and Nadia.

She was also a beloved aunt to 11 nieces and nephews, 16 grandnieces and grandnephews, and 4 great grandnieces, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Rivardo; her brothers, Michael, William, and Richard; and her sisters-in-law, Ruth, Caroline, and Pilar.

Marie will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was an unselfish and kind-hearted woman who always put others before herself. She loved to laugh, enjoyed life, and lived every moment to the fullest. Her warmth, generosity, strength, and unconditional love for her family will remain in their hearts and memories forever.

Visitation

Family and friends may pay their respects at O’Shea Funeral Home, located at 2515 N. Jerusalem Road, East Meadow, NY, on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 10:45 a.m. at St. Francis de Chantal R.C. Church, located at 1309 Wantagh Avenue, Wantagh, NY.

The Raymond Funeral Home in Historic Norwalk has been entrusted with local arrangements.
