STAMFORD NATIVE Our beloved mother, Marie Olga Boccuzzi passed away peacefully on September 2, 2011 at Sun City Hospice in Ruskin, Florida. She was born in Stamford on August 17, 1931, and was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Beatrice Balducci Cappellieri. She worked at Pitney Bowes in the Insurance Department and then the Credit Union from which she retired in 1993. She and her loving companion of 38 years, Derek Scholefield retired to Riverview, Florida where they belonged to the Buckhorn Springs Golf & Country Club where she scored not just one hole-in-one, but two! Marie's love and devotion to her family was perpetual, her cooking went unsurpassed. But what she will be remembered for most was her love for all of God's animals, large and small. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jeanette Boccuzzi of Norwalk and Stephanie Boccuzzi of Stamford, as well as her 3 grandchildren, Susan Williams (Eli), Gregory Lathrop and Courtney Lathrop, all of Stamford and her dear cousin, Julia Blake of Valrico Florida. A Solemn Eucharist and Burial Service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 2p.m. at St. Paul's on the Green, East Avenue, Norwalk, CT. Interment will follow immediately in the Memorial Garden following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Marie's name to the Kindred Spirits of the Humane Society of the United States, 2100 L.
